Tutoring Statement

I am an experienced and qualified tutor and teacher.  As a teacher, I had extensive experience tutoring school students in homework help as well as in the classroom.  I have taught a number of students of all ages to play the guitar.  I have also tutored Philosophy at the University of Wollongong.  In recent years, my focus has been on private tutoring at early secondary school level, home schooling and developing tutoring resources.  I have updated my teaching qualifications with a Graduate Certificate in Autism which has informed and assisted my practice.  Tutoring, teaching and learning tricks, techniques and observations are detailed, dissected described in my blog.

My tutoring aims to increase the skills, knowledge and attitude to learning of my students.  The guiding principles of my tutoring are patience. flexibility and linkages.  We all learn different things in different ways at different times.  Tutoring needs to be tailored to the learning needs of the student,  These learning needs are best met with the flexibility to offer a broad range of learning experiences, and to link the learning to the interests and strengths of the student.

I am currently tutoring both on Zoom, Skype and in person with observance of social distancing.
